Sea Point Swimming Pool, Cape Town
South Africa, 2006
To give children from the poverty-stricken area who attend the Nomlinganiselo afternoon school art class the chance to leave the environment of the township at least for one day a year, the ``Swimming Pool Day`` was created. With donations of the Austrian company Austrotel I organized together with the Amy Biehl Foundation Trust a day for the kids at the swimming pool in the wealthy community of Sea Point in Cape Town. Another purpose of this project is to remind of a march to a ``whites-only beach``, organized by Desmond Tutu during the Apartheid in 1989, where he and his supporters were chased off with whips.
